Bethany in the mist!!

Hi. Well the Parish Walk. Above are my bellringer friends going to Rushen or Peel.
Today I ran 10 miles.
Bradda Head and the Tower Of Refuge looked stunning.
It was cold and misty and then hot and dry.
I got fed up with taking clothes on or off.
Oh well, I am sure the 10 e2e walk will work, despite the weather.
I am up for the challenge!
bye!!

Marathon Lady

Hi. Well 26.2 miles run today in the sunshine.
Ran from Point Of Ayre to Peel and around Peel for 4 miles.
The shop at Kirk Michael provided a wonderful sandwich.
The shop at Peel a lovely pasty.
The flies and the roadworks were troublesome.

I am relaxing now in front of the TV.
Need to water the garden.
Hope we don't have a hosepipe ban else it is the watering can.

Bye!!

What a wonderful World!

Hi. Well the past few days have been battling tiredness.

I ran 17 miles on saturday from the Sound to Peel.

Today I ran from Peel to Port Erin over the Sloc.

The views were beautiful.

It was almost heavenly.

I love running!
My brain behaved itself too and I was intrusive thought-free.
On Sunday I went to the ecumenical service in the Bay Festival Tent. (See photos).
It was good although I think alot of work needs to be done to combine individual churches.
It was not truly ecumenical, but 2,000 people attended.
David's 'pink party' was good.
We ate salmon sandwiches and pink fairy cakes and strawberries.
Bye!

Leap of Faith

Hi, well today I learnt a big lesson.
I need to eat alot more food to stop the blood sugar crashes.
To do this I must overcome my fear of food and putting on weight.
Take, for example, the fairy cakes today.
I avoided the chocolate ones and took a plain one because I was too scared ther chocolate one would put lots of weight on me. How stupid is that?!

I ran 3 miles from St John's to Peel.
I then rang the bells at the Cathedral for the Canon's mother's funeral.
I enjoyed it - they are nice bells and we rang call changes.
I then tolled the half muffled tenor as the coffin left the church.
I then ran home from Peel.
I called in at my Aunt's house along the way as it was sooo hot and I saw Mum driving there with my nephew.
I later rescued a woman's dog lead that had fallen onto the path.
I ran after her and ran a mile further than I had planned.
That meant I ran 17.4 miles and felt good.

Tonight the home group was about the Holy Spirit.
Also the 'leap of faith' that we must make to trust in God.
The Spirit is there to guide us if we let him in.
I love the Holy Spirit!

Hypo's!!

Hi. Well yesterday, altogether, went well.
I woke up feeling exhausted - low blood sugar.
After some food I felt much better until my blood sugars again crashed in Shoprite.
Tiny Tots was loud and chaos. 6 youngsters under 4years of age!
Helped a friend too buy a TV from Tesco's.
It was a 37 inch flat screen.
Isn't techno great!

My garden is taking shape.
Everything is growing and doing well.
The lettuce I am eating and there is 1 red strawberry.
I have put netting over to stop the birds eating the fruit.
I transplanted 15 tomato plants into larger pots.
They have taken over the porch now!

Running between exhaustion!

Hi. Well I ran to Peel today - 13 miles. Ernie took the photos in the 8am sunshine. However I ran along the Heritage Trail.
It is very heavy with pollen from the grasses, flowers and trees.
After having a mild asthma attack I got onto the road and the sea air and an antihistamine in Peel helped me recover.
So I have run 26 miles in 2 days and are sore and stiff.
The tiredness is getting debilitating.
My vitamin B12 and folate are low.
Going to see the doctor on Tuesday, if I can manage up to then.
Ernie is tired too - maybe it is my cooking!
Anyway I won't stop running as this helps give me energy, and I love it.
Ernie is helping me alot despite his forehead and sore eye.
Thanks Ernie.

Back to the running!

Hi. Well today was a fun day.
I ran 13.5 miles, met lots of people I know and had a session on the powerplate.
This demolished my quads as the personal trainer, Richie, who I have worked with, made me do lots of squats. I chose 'BodyShack Gym', where I used to work as a gym instructor, as the Powerplate sessions are good value for money and you get a personal trainer.
My next session is on friday with core stability at Mount Murray on wednesday.

Our guests have flown home and the house is peaceful, although I have mounds of bedding to wash. Ernie seems fine today. I am the one struggling with racing thoughts in my head.

Gave Kemmyrk £200 from JOGLE sponsorship and the photo is going to the papers.
That made me feel good!

My leg seems much better and I will run to Peel tomorrow.
The weather is glorious!

Civic Sunday

Hi. Well today the new mayor started his duties by attending our church.
The church was full of councillors, standard bearers and MHK's - politicians!
After a short, quick shower which duly soaked Douglas Town Band and all the guests, the service got underway. The organist, fresh from his holiday, played magnificently and loudly and we sang, amongst others, the Royal Anthem, 'Ellan Vannin' and the Manx National Anthem.
Afterwards we all trooped to the Town Hall for food and drinks.
I spoke to an MHK and the former Mayor and Mayoress.
I then collared the Mayor, who knew me (!) and spoke to him about running.
It was a good morning.

Ernie and I arrived home to a wonderful roast turkey dinner - thanks Linda.
Everyone then left to cuddle the cats at the 'Mann Cat Sanctuary' whilst I slept.
Why do I need a sleep everyday?
I think it is all the soporific medication I am on to help me slow down and keep calm!
I am not sure what would happen without it.

Parish Communion this evening.
I donot think I will be singing solo as the organist's wife is back.
How many in the congregation? lets hope more than one!

Running to help!

Hi. Well another senior race day is over and TT2010 is over.
The thousands will be travelling back home now.
Unfortunately 2 riders are dead and 2 more injured.
I pray for their families and wish the latter speedy recoveries.
It brings home how dangerous the TT is.

On a happier note we all watched the white helmet display team on the Prom.
It was amazing the bike stunts and the precision and discipline of the servicemen.
Then the purple helmets performed naked, raced wheelie bins and were a complete contrast to the white helmets. All their stunts were amazing.
The onlyproblem was we had tea at 6pm and had spent until 10.30pm standing up.
Ernie's brother is diabetic and began to have a hypo on the walk home.
It was all uphill and he was exhausted.
So I ran a mile ahead of them to get my car and meet them halfway with a banana.
He was fine after tea and toast at home.
However,my leg was fine. My calf did not complain and I ran fast and strong.
It all bodes well for training this week.

So the island will be peaceful again in 24 hours.
Some bikes were modern and amazing, others were old and had done many miles.
I have loved the TT atmosphere again.
But it will be nice to be back to usual routines again,

Feelin' Fantastic!!

Hi. Well the magic pill has worked.
The anti-anxiety pill has made me feel loads better.
I feel free from intrusive thoughts when not under stress.
I feel lighter and happier.

I collected money from the Prom today for the 'Hyperbaric Chamber'.
I could not believe that my initial helper did not know you had to approach people for money.
If you just stand there, nobody will give you money!
I got loads by asking people and giving out wristbands.
I must be a veteran money collector!

Ernie is back later on after being in London today.
I am looking forward to another good nights sleep and a happy day tomorrow!

Bethany.

Early start!

Hi. Well, a small miracle has occurred.
The 2 tablets I started taking last night have worked wonders.
I don't feel agitated, panicky or in a fog.
I feel like doing things today.
I may be able to get into the garden if the weather improves.
Please God - let the sun shine so the races can go ahead today!
I would like to see Aaron today. He is growing fast! Teeth and all!

Here's hoping to a good productive day!!

Help!!

Hi. Well I got some much needed help today.
My intrusive thoughts and sleeplessness were too much.
My psychiatrist has put me on an anti-anxiety pill and a sleeping tablet.
Here is hoping they will work.
Life has noy been easy - hence the break in the blogs.

Hopefully the sun will shine on me and the TT tomorrow.
Today's races were eventually cancelled until tomorrow.
Off for a pint tonight with friends.
Bye...

Visitors here!!

Hi. Well, our visitors are here.
Ernie's brother and sister-in-Law.
They are here for the whole of the TT, as they like bikes.
It should be fun with them here, plenty of Bushy's Beer Tent!

Still felt tired today but managed the core stability class.
It was very good and I have now bought a fitball and blown it up.
This means I can perform the exercises at home.
I also have bought a book on nutrition and a book on sports injuries.
They both look good reads.
The nutrition book has recipes in it that I hope to try.

The sun shone today and it should be hot tomorrow.
More gardening I think!

Exhaustion!!

Hi. Been sooo... tired today.
Could have slept all day.
Picked Ernie up from the airport.
He was 30 minutes early - I nearly did not get there in time!
Enjoyed a lovely pub lunch with him.

Off to a meeting and then to bed - cannot wait!
