Running for the loo!

Hi. Well the trots struck again! Managed 3 miles before disaster struck.
I ended up very embarrassed. It was awful.
More washing!
Exercise increases G.I.Tract motility.
In future I will have to dose up on loperamide.
Tomorrow I will do the gym in the morning as it is forecast wet ansd windy!
Then I will run later so hopefully I will be over the loo bit by then!

The garden got done today instead of the run.
I planted bulbs and cleared some of the veg patch.
I picked all the parsnips and some more carrots.
I hate this time of year when everything dies down and goes to sleep.
Roll on Spring and all the tulips, hyacinths and daffs grow.

I am probably going to run on Sunday in the Western 10 race.
10 miles at 10.15am.
It will take me 2 hours.
I won't win anything but it will be good - a fast race for me.

Best wishes, Bethany.

Success!

Hi. 110 miles in a week - 80 in 33.5 hrs at the weekend.
Will post photos tomorrow.
Rory was wonderful on Friday.
His talk inspired and motivated 50 eager participants.
I raised £250.
On saturday we ran north for 40 miles in 10 hours.
The weather all weekend was superb with lovely views from the many hills.
On sunday we walked in the race.
We did it slowly as we helped some novice walkers to Peel.
Then we had to speed up to make the cut-off.
I got a blister and a sore shin from the steep downhills.
However it was long but fantastic.
Rory and I talked alot.
I need to get training hard for JOGLE next year.
I want to run 30 marathons in 38 days - finishing 100 marathons in total on my birthday.
My birthday is November 4th.

Bye! Bethany.

Unwell!!

Hi. Well I know why the past few days have been exhausting.
I have felt tired and sick.
However things got much worse this morning and thank goodness I have a toilet!
But I could not have run today.
I had to stay home and rest in the hope I can run on saturday and walk on sunday.
I did wonder why 6 miles yesterday seemed like 60!
I am really looking forward to Rory coming tomorrow.
I hope I do feel better by then.

Another Run Done!

Hi. Well a glorious run today.
The sun shone and it was warm. It was an easy 7 miles.
I ran from Peel to Kirk Michael along the Coast Road.
I even managed to catch an earlier bus home I ran faster than planned.
3FM Radio interviewed me during the run.

Unfortunately the disabled boy I help out with on Tuesdays is not very well.
I pray to God he gets better. Mum is worried.

Tomorrow a run from Kirk Michael to ballaugh in the rain!
A rainy day on Thursday too.
I have sold nearly 50 tickets for Rory.
Tomorrow we are going to the Creg to sort out seats etc.

I must admit I am tired!

A day of Prayer!

Hi. I managed to get through Mass this morning without feeling ill.
This is the first time in 6 weeks!
Only Evensong to go and the day is ended.

We went to the Waterfall Pub in Glen Maye for lunch.
We ate an emormous roast lamb dinner.
A lady sitting next to us, on her own, was a real pleasure to talk to.
She recognised me and we chatted - sorry for ignoring you Ernie but you were on Facebook!
She is 58 and swims every day in the sea! Brrrr!
She is amazing and lives by herself so enjoyed our company, I think.

Anyway a good day today and a nice sleep after Church.
15 miles tomorrow and I am looking forward to running!

Change of plans to succeed!

Hi. My E2E runnibg challenge has changed again.
I am now running it 3X and not 6X.
Isla Scott has been brilliant in treating my injuries.
I have a stiff tight lower back and left ankle that is manifesting itself in my calf muscle.
She really massaged my back and calf - I am bruised!
My ankle feels much better.
I see her again on Friday.

So from Monday to Thursday I run a total of 40 miles.
Mon: Sound to Peel (15 miles)
Tues: Peel to Kirk Michael (7 miles)
Wed: Kirk Michael to Ballaugh (5 miles)
Thurs: Ballaugh to Point of Ayre (14 miles).
Then a day off on Friday and Rory arrives for his talk.

Next weekend Rory and I run the double E2E.
I cannot wait for Rory to come.
I have been tidying the house and getting things for the runs sorted.

I was interviewed by Manx Radio on Friday.
It goes on air on Monday Morning.

So far I have sold 34 tickets for Rory's talk - wonderful!
Please get in touch if you want to listen to an amazing guy.
Also if you want to run with us part of the way - please get in touch.

I hope to run between 4.5 to 5mph and take 9-10 hours.
I have supplies hidden along the route so I can support myself.

Trying to get back running....

Hi. Trying to get back running....15 miles today from Ramsey to back home.
My leg felt more or less okay.
It felt odd a bit and now this evening it feels tight again.
I hope to be able to run tomorrow but am not sure.
My back was okay until Baldrine Hill and then it hurt.
However after 5 minutes it was fine.

Oh well - am I running too soon?
I need to cover 40 miles over 2 days in 3 weeks time.

The weather has been wonderful today .... an Indian summer maybe?
The views of the Coast were breathtaking.
Another good day tomorrow.

Bye, Bethany.
