30 miles to Ramsey!

Hi. Well yesterday I got past Kirk Michael.
Starting from Port Erin I got to Peel in 2 and 3/4 hours.
The Sloc was beautiful. i love the hills. i run on the roads.
I asked a guy in Dalby if he could fill my water bottle.
He was watering his plants and joked that if he gave me water from his watering can, the plant food in it would make me go faster! If only! A bit of miracle-go!
I had a sandwich in the Creek Inn before heading to Kirk Michael.
I hate the Peel to K. Michael road as the pavement is awful to run on.
It is like doing x-country.
After a custard slice in K. Michael i ran to Ramsey along the main road.
It took me six and a half hours, averaging 12 minute miles.
The bus to Laxey and a pint with Ernie to relax with.
Ernie cooked me dinner - steak and kindney pud (well steak, could not find the kidney!)

Today cleaning the church and the powerplate.
Would have loved to have run today but too many pressures.

Singing with God!

Hi. Today was a church day.
An all age praise service in the morning, which had us all marching round the church with the children shaking bells and tambourines.
An afternoon of catching up and cooking a roast beef dinner.
We ate home-grown rhubarb crumble too.
Then Parish Communion and 5 more hymns.
There is a spiritual presence in the Choir Stalls. I can feel it. It pins me to my seat and feels heavy. It exhausts me!
Then a trip to get an officials signature towards, what I hope, will be a 24 hour running record for an IOM female runner.
Home and now to bed. I will pray for an alcoholic who looked ill at Church.
Why is alcohol so addictive?

I tried hard!

Hi. I visited 14 flower festival churches in total. I ran to Braddan Old Church - 9 miles from Ramsey - and the ladies there were astonished. Needless to say, we had a long chat about the Double Parish Walk 2008.
Ran 15 miles today. a bit disappointed it was not more but maybe I need to do shorter runs for now and more of them. I had a powerplate session before running today, so that meant my legs had a good workout!
Have a good day tomorrow,
Bethany.

Sniffin' still!

Hi. Despite infected sinuses I still managed to get to Tynwald to see the Royal marines beating the retreat. Wonderful! The evening was dry and sunny at St Johns. I hope to get back to running tomorrow if I feel better. Bye!!

Wish i could chop off my nose!

Hi. Well more sponsor money handed over today.
This time to the Star club - a clubhouse run for and by people with mental health issues.
Today we had a Manx Day.
Lots of Manx Cheese and Bonnag, and then a Manx Quiz.
I performed a dance to 'Pot of Gold' combining Irish Dancing with American Line Dancing. I wore a sparkly skirt and emerald top.
Thanks to all at the Star Club for the lunch and friendship.

My nose is not good.
It is running alot.
I hope it is a cold and not hayfever.
Have not run today - do not think I could.
Gardening tomorrow and I need my voice to read at Mass.

Bye!!

Full of cold!!

Hi. Well....today I croaked, coughed and sneezed.
A nice summer cold!
No idea how I caught it and I hope I do not spread it.

I had a wonderful 12 mile run last night after 6pm.
It was lovley running in the cool sunshine.
I swallowed one fly and got another in my eye.
However it was lovely that the pollen was low.

Today, choreographed a dance for the Star Club tomorrow.
It is Irish / American.
we are having a Manx afternoon tomorrow.

Ernie is cooking his tea.
I am relaxing with my handkerchief!

Best wishes,
Bethany.
